Brown Bag Technology Demonstration
What: Wireless Networking in JRP
When: Friday November 30, 11:00 AM
Where: Second Floor balcony adjacent to room 201 and 207
Who: Frank Carey, Brian Newberry and anyone who wants to use wireless networking with their laptop computer.
Did you know that there is a small-scale wireless network already available to you in JRP? Wouldn't it be nice to be able to check your email on a break in a faculty meeting? Or perhaps you would like to take a lunch out to the patio and still access the Internet. You can do this if you have a laptop with a wireless network card.
Frank Carey will lead a discussion on some possible uses of wireless connectivity in JRP. Brian Newberry will demonstrate how to set up an Apple Macintosh laptop to access the Learning Generation wireless network. And for PC users, Brian will discuss some of the available wireless networking cards that you can get to make your PC link up to the Learning Generation wireless network.
Learning Generation will provide drinks and other items to supplement the sandwich you bring to this Brown Bag Technology Demonstration
Bring your airport equipped Macintosh laptop and Brian will help you set it up to access the Learning Generation wireless network in a Make-It Take-It session at 12:00. If you aren't sure if you have an Airport card in your laptop bring it and Brian will help you find out.
