"Get Moving" starts the beginning of November!  Get Moving is an optional program for all students
1st grade through 6th, in the Lawrence School District.  The goals of "Get Moving" are
1.  To encourage students to participate in physical activity in addition to their school Physical Education classes.
2.  To encourage families to exercise together regularly.
If you would like more information on this program or have misplaced the "Dear Parent" information sheet, click here
If there are questions that you have about "Get Moving" that were not answered there you may find the answer here!

The main thing is that you exercise every day!   Regular Physical Exercise:
*Improves strength and endurance
*Helps build healthy bones and muscles
*Helps control weight
*Reduces anxiety, stress, and symptoms of depression
*Increases self-esteem
*Plus, it is fun!!!

"If you don't take care of your body, where else will you live?"  A Native American philosophy

Eating well is part of living well!  Proper nutrition not only helps your body look better, it helps your body work better!  Sometimes it is good to write down what you eat each day.  Then you can see whether you are missing any important parts of the food pyrmid.  If you would like to do a Scavanger Hunt to learn more about the food pyrmid and to help you with eating more of the right foods then click here!
