Objective: To copy an image from the internet, and insert it on to a PowerPoint slide.



Introduction: Inserting images on to PowerPoint slides can enhance the visual appeal of a presentation. Images from various sources can be used on slides, including: 1) clip art from the PowerPoint "Clip Gallery", 2) images copied from the world-wide-web, 3) scanned pictures, or 4) pictures taken on a digital camera. The internet is an excellent resource for all types of images. There are numerous web sites that offer uncopyrighted images and graphics that are free for personal use.



Skill Practice: Insert an image from the internet on to a PowerPoint Slide

Step 1: Open . On your computer screen, display the slide that you want to add an image to.

Step 3: Conduct an internet search to locate an uncopyrighted image that you want to use on your PowerPoint slide.

Step 4: Once you have found the desired image, click the right mouse button and choose "copy" (Macs - click on the image and "hold" until a similar options menu appears). A copy of the image has now been placed on your computer's "clipboard".

Step 5: Click back on your PowerPoint slide. Go to Edit > Paste. The image you copied from the web will be "pasted" on to your PowerPoint slide.

Step 6: Left click on the image - the picture toolbar and image "sizing handles" will appear . Use the picture toolbar to make desired adjustments to image appearance, such as cropping and brightness. Use the image sizing handles to adjust image size and slide position.
