Objective: To create handouts of a PowerPoint presentation



Introduction: Educators on all levels are beginning to use Microsoft PowerPoint for presentations and class lectures. PowerPoint allows the incorporation of images, sounds, movies, and internet links, which may, individually or collectively, increase the quality of a presentation or lecture. PowerPoint also includes many useful features that may enhance student learning and information retention. For example, presentation handouts and notes can easily be created and distributed to students to accompany the actual presentation, discussion, or lecture.



Skill Practice: To create handouts of a PowerPoint presentation

Step 1: Open , and open the presentation you want to create handouts for.

Step 2: Go to View > Master > Handout Master. The outline page for handouts will appear on screen. Also, the Handout Master toolbar will appear, , which allows you to choose how many slides to fit on each handout. Choose the number of slides per page you want, such as 6.

Step 3: To add header, date, footer, and page # to handouts - Go to View > Header and Footer. Click on the tab, and insert the desired information. Click on when finished. Inserted headers, footers, page #s, and dates will appear on printed handouts.

Step 4: To print - Go to File > Print. Choose and verify .

Step 5: Specify , and then select . Your handouts will be printed.
