Real Producer Basic
Objective: To create an audio file with Real Producer Basic
Introduction: Real Producer Basic is a tool for encoding video and audio for the internet. Educators can use Real Producer to incorporate multimedia elements into lesson plans and presentations. Real Producer Basic comes with an easy-to-use "wizard" that will take educators through a "step-by-step" process to create audio files in a short period of time. Users select the type of media clip that they want to create, and the recording source: from a file (an existing audio file), from a media device, or from a live broadcast.
Skill Practice: Creating an audio file using Real Producer.
Step 1: Open
, and select Record from Media Device

Step 2: Select Capture Audio, and click "Next".
Step 3: Put the title, your name, copyright, brief description, and key word, then click "Next".
Step 4: Select Single-rate for Web Servers, then click "Next".
Step 5: Specify 28K Modem or 56K Modem as your target audience, then click "Next".
Step 6: Select the appropriate Audio Format for the type of audio content contained in your input media source, then click "Next".
Step 7: Type a name for the file that you want to create, identify the location on your computer you want the file saved to, then click "Next". * Please Note * - sound files should have an ".rm" extension.
Step 8: You will be directed to the main screen with the recording control. You can record by clicking "Start". You will see the noise level from Audio Level: green and yellow will be fine; red will be too loud.

Step 9: When you finish recording, click "Stop", and confirm by clicking "Yes" - the recording will stop.
Step 10: The recording data screen will appear, with an option to "View Statistics".
