Create XY Scatter Graph Assignment

Requirements: Create an XYscatter graph using data entered into an Excel spreadsheet.



Basic Assignment Option:

Step 1: Enter data to be graphed into an Excel spreadsheet; two columns of at least five data points each.
Step 2: Use the Chart Wizard to create an XYscatter graph of the data.
Step 3: Place the graph within the spreadsheet.
Step 3: Print off and submit spreadsheet and graph.

  • Two columns containing four to five data points each entered into Excel spreadsheet.
  • Graph is an XYscatter and is placed within the spreadsheet.
  • Assignment is printed and submitted.
  • Partial Credit

  • Two columns containing two to three data points each entered into Excel spreadsheet.
  • Graph is an XYscatter and is placed within the spreadsheet.
  • Assignment is printed and submitted.
  • No Credit

  • Two columns containing only one data point each entered into Excel spreadsheet.
  • No graph done.
  • Assignment is not printed or submitted.



  • Intermediate Assignment Option:

    Step 1: Enter data to be graphed into an Excel spreadsheet; two columns of at least ten data points each.
    Step 2: Use the Chart Wizard to create an XYscatter graph of the data. Also include the trendline on the graph.
    Step 3: Place the graph within the spreadsheet.
    Step 4: Submit the spreadsheet via email.

  • Graph is an XYscatter. is placed within the spreadsheet, and includes a trendline.
  • Assignment submitted via email.
  • No Credit

  • Two columns containing only one data point each entered into Excel spreadsheet.
  • No graph done.
  • Assignment is not submitted via email.



  • Advanced Assignment Option:

    Step 1: Enter data to be graphed into an Excel spreadsheet; two columns of at least twenty data points each.
    Step 2: Use the Chart Wizard to create an XYscatter graph of the data. Also include the trendline on the graph, as well as the line equation and the value.
    Step 3: Place the graph into a separate spreadsheet.
    Step 4: Submit the assignment by uploading both the data spreadsheet as well as the graph spreadsheet to the "class" web site.
