Objective: To create an event program using Microsoft Publisher
Introduction: Microsoft Publisher can help educators create a variety of useful job-related documents, such as newsletters, event programs, flyers, banners, calendars, and award certificates. Through the use of the "publication wizard", or through creating an original "blank" publication, Microsoft Publisher can enhance creativity and appearance of documents, while reducing the time necessary for project development
Skill Practice: To create an event program using Microsoft Publisher
Step 1: Open
. The "Microsoft Publisher Catalog" will appear on screen. Select the "Publications by Wizard" folder -

Step 2: In the
folder, "click" on
. A menu with "program" templates will appear on screen:
Select the desired program template to use for your project by "double-clicking" on the program thumbnail in the menu.
Step 3: A large version of the selected program will now appear on screen. Now the "Publication Wizard" will guide you through a few basic steps to publish your document. Click on
to continue.
Step 4: The "Color Scheme" menu will appear on the left of the screen. Select the color scheme you would like to use with our program, such as
. Select
to continue to the next publishing step.
Step 5: The "Personal Information" menu will appear on the left of the screen. Select the personal information set you would like to use with your publication, such as
. Select "Finish" to continue to the next publishing step.
Step 6: The first page of your program will appear on screen. "Left-click" on any portion of the document to begin editing your program. "Sizing handles" will appear around text, tables, and images. Use the sizing handles to resize objects on your program. Go to View > Go to Page.... The "Go To Page" menu will appear on screen:
Use the menu to "view", "edit", and "format" the other pages of your new event program.
Step 7: "Left-click" directly on the text - the text will become "highlighted". Use the "Formatting Toolbar" to make formating adjustings.
Follow the same steps to edit/format each page of your new publication. Go to File > Save to "name" and "save" your new event program. Go to File > Print to print out a copy of your new event program.
