WS_FTP

Objective: To attach "sounds" to common WS_FTP functions



Introduction: WS_FTP, a file-transfer-protocol software application, allows users to attach specific sounds to common WS_FTP functions. The use of sounds can help indicate to the user when a function has been successfully or unsuccessfully performed, such as a successful connection and a successful file transfer. WS_FTP comes equipped with basic sound files, or the user can import alternative sound files (.wav files) to use with the functions.



Skill Practice: To attach "sounds" to common WS_FTP functions

Step 1: Open . The "Session" Properties window will appear on screen. You need to "login" to activiate WS_FTP.

Step 2: After you have successfully logged-in, the "WS_FTP session window" will appear on screen. Click on . The "WS-FTP Properties" window will appear on screen.



Click on the "Sounds" tab. The "Sounds" folder will be open, and displayed in front of the other folders.



Step 3: On the "Sounds" folder, select a sound for common WS_FTP functions, such as "Connection Success" and "Transfer Complete Success". Or, if you don't want to use sounds, don't "check" the boxes next to the functions listed.

Step 4: To change sounds for a specific function (such as "Connection Success"), click on the small box on the right-hand side - . The "Open" window will appear on screen, and the WS_FTP folder will be opened:

Step 5: Select one of the existing .wav files in the WS_FTP folder, or search the computer for other existing .wav files that could be attached/used for the WS_FTP functions. When finished click on .

Step 6: If you don't want to use sounds with WS_FTP functions, click on the "None" target - . No sounds will be attached.
