Objective: To Customize Arrow Links



Introduction: Inspiration makes it very simple to add arrow links, which are often used to connect two objects to each other, to projects. In addition, a user can customize arrow links to add more creativity and appeal to the overall project.



Skill Practice: To Customize Arrow Links

Step 1: Open . A new, untitled document will appear on screen, and the "Main Idea" object will also appear.

Step 2: Go to View > Symbol Palette to have the symbol palette appear on screen. Browse the symbol menus for images/graphics you want to add to your project.

Step 3: Add at least 2 symbols or graphics to your Inspiration file that you want to link together with an "arrow link".

Step 4: Click on the "Link" button - button. Next, click on the object that you want the arrow link to originate from - . Finally, click on the object that you want the arrow link to point to -

Step 5: Your objects linked with an arrow should look something like this - .

Step 6: Change Arrow Color - Click on the arrow so that "sizing handles" appear around the arrow. Go to Effect > Line Color - a color palette will appear that will provide you with approximately 60 colors to choose from for arrow color - .

Step 7: Change Arrow Line Width - Click on your arrow link. Go to Effect > Line Thickness. A pop-out menu will appear with 8 size choices for the thickness of your arrow links - .

Step 8: Change Arrow Line Pattern - Click on your arrow link. Go to Effect > Line Pattern. A pop-out menu will appear with at least 24 choices for the pattern of your arrow links - .

Step 9: Use "dashed line" - Click on your arrow link. Go to Effect > Dashed Line. The line of the arrow link will now become "dashed" - .

Step 10: Change Arrow Heads - Click on your arrow link. Go to Link > Arrow Head Starting Point (or Ending Point). A pop-out menu will appear on screen, providing different sizes for the arrow heads - .

Step 11: Change Arrow Shape - Click on your arrow link. Go to Link > Curved Link (3 pt or 4 pt). Your arrow link will now become curved .
