Objective: To create a PowerPoint Template
Introduction: Microsoft PowerPoint allows educators to create their own templates to use with presentations. With a few simple steps, an educator can create a customized template that will be a perfect fit for a presentation with a specific theme.
Skill Practice: Create a PowerPoint Template
Step 1: Open
. The "PowerPoint" window will appear on screen. Select

Step 2: The "New Slide" window will appear on screen. Choose any slide format, such as the "Blank Slide" option -
. A blank slide will appear on screen.
Step 3: Go to View > Master > Slide Master. The "Master Slide" for the presentation will appear on screen.
Step 4: Go to Insert > Picture to insert a picture or graphic onto the master slide. Once the picture is inserted, click on the picture so that the "sizing handles" appear around the picture's perimeter. Make the image a Watermark by going to the "Picture toolbar" and using the "Image Control" icon -
.
Step 5: Now, use the
icon on the "Drawing toolbar". Click on the picture so that "sizing handles" appear, and then go to Draw > Order > Send to Back to turn the image into the background for the slide.
Step 6: To Save as a Template - Go to File > Save As...the "Save As" window will appear on screen. Name the file in the "File Name" text box -
. Save the file as a template by specifying "design template" in the "Save As Type" text box -
Step 7: Once you have named the file, and specified the file type, identify "where" you want the file saved in the "Save In" text box -
Step 8: When finished, click on
to save the newly created PowerPoint template. It can now be used to create new presentations.
